Bloodborne Pathogens

This course teaches the high-risk UL Lafayette employees about the communicable illnesses they can be exposed to on the job and how a pathogen enters the body. Proper procedures used to prevent the transmission of these diseases are covered as well as the use of hazard control kits and personal protective equipment. Hands on simulation is given to show participants how to properly administer personal protective equipment as well as how to utilize the decontamination kits for cleanup. High-risk employees are required to train annually on boodborne pathogens.

This course can be taken online at anytime in the Cornerstone training platform for Fulltime faculty and staff.  Parttime staff and studnet workers may take this course online through Moodle.  If you have a department where multiple employees need to complete this training and are classified as High-Risk,  a private training can be provided.  Please call 428-1840 to schedule a course.
